I wrote a set of one-line summaries for each source file. These notes were corrected and further annotated by the authors through the spread-users mailing list, for which I most grateful. The current version of these notes is available here.
I've written a analyzer/proxy for the (undocumented) binary protocol used between the spread server and the client library. My notes on the (apparent) protocol are here. The code itself is fully working but is not release quality as of September 2002. Mail me if you're interested anyway.
